Deep Tissue Massage
Relieves chronic pain and muscle tension by applying firm pressure to the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues
Discover how Deep Tissue Massage can boost your recovery
What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Let's start by answering a few key questions...
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of massage that concentrates on deeper layers of muscle tissues and fascia, also known as connective tissue. It is mainly applied to exercise or musculoskeletal issues, and has the primary objective of reducing aches and pains in the area of discomfort.
Our practitioners will use slower strokes with firmer pressure to alleviate soreness, break up scar tissue and ultimately, relax the muscles.
This therapeutic treatment triggers the release of the body’s natural painkillers. A great choice to relieve muscular aches brought about by every day stress and by your day-to-day routine. It uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish Massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense.
What are the benefits of Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep Tissue Massage is particularly beneficial for removing knots and chronic tension, often accumulated after frequent exercise, poor posture or following an injury.
By stimulating the affected area, it can reduce inflammation and increase blood flow, which promotes the natural healing of the connective tissue and can even improve the flexibility of the muscle and extend the range of movement.
After the treatment, your practitioner will provide you with advice on how to reduce any tenderness, give exercises to prevent the injury reoccurring and, if you are have any questions before, during or after your treatment, feel free to contact us on 01252 850800 or send an email to info@oakparkclinic.co.uk
